HOLY MT KAILASH VIA KATHMANDU & LHASA TOUR - 14 Nights/ 15 Days

This is a specially designed yatra that offers pilgrims an opportunity to experience Tibetan culture, breathtaking landscapes, and explore two major cities of the Tibet Autonomous Region: Lhasa and Shigatse. The yatra begins from Kathmandu with a flight to Lhasa, followed by Lhasa City sightseeing, including the iconic Potala Palace and important monasteries. The journey from Lhasa to Saga is considered one of the most scenic routes in Tibet.

Day 1

KATHMANDU

Arrive in Kathmandu. Meet, assist & transfer to hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2

PREPARATION & PILGRIMAGE SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, proceed for Pilgrimage sightseeing covering Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa and Budhanilakanth temple. Return to hotel for lunch, followed by a detailed yatra briefing and preparation session. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3

FLY TO LHASA (ACCLIMATIZATION DAY)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Lhasa. Arrive in Lhasa (11,811 ft), meet and assist, and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for acclimatization. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4

LHASA CITY SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Lhasa, which includes Potala Palace (viewed from outside only) – the former winter palace of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sera Monastery, one of the three major Gelugpa monasteries and Norbulingka, the former summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Return to hotel and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5

LHASA TO SHIGATSE (12585 ft, 290 kms, 6/7 hours drive)

After breakfast, drive to Shigatse, enjoying scenic mountain landscapes en route. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and visit Palkor Monastery and Tashilhunpo Monastery. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 6

SHIGATSE TO SAGA (15,223 ft , 460 Km).

After breakfast, drive to Saga. En route, enjoy views of Mt. Shishapangma and Peiku Tso Lake. Arrival and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7

SAGA TO MANSAROVAR (480 kms, 7-8 hrs drive)

After breakfast, drive to Mansarovar Lake (14,948 ft). Upon arrival, take a holy bath and perform puja, hawan, dev tarpan, and personal purification rituals (self). Freshly prepared meals will be served at the lakeside. Overnight stay at guesthouse.

Day 8

MANSAROVAR TO DARCHEN (1 hr)

Drive to Darchen (15,302 ft). En-route visit Chuigumpa hot spring. Arrival & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 9

DARCHEN TO SERSONG & HOLY TREK TO DIRAPUK

After breakfast, drive to Tarboch Flag Pole, the first prostration point and auspicious gateway. Visit Yamadwar, then continue driving to Sershong (8 km).Begin the trek to Dirapuk (15,633 ft;10 km /3 to 4 hours). Overnight stay at guesthouse.

Day 10

HOLY TREK FROM DIRAPUK TO ZUTHULPUK

Continue Parikrama crossing Dikpala (16404 ft) & Dorma La Pass (18,324 ft) and descend towards Zuthulpuk (15,420 ft 22 KM, 7 to 8 hrs trek). Overnight stay at guesthouse.

Day 11

HOLY TREK TO NEAR DARCHEN & DRIVE TO SAGA

Complete the final stretch of Mt. Kailash Parikrama (3-4 hours) which ends near Darchen. Enjoy views of Thukto Lake en route. Drive to Saga. (450 KM,8 hrs drive). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 12

SAGA TO SHIGATSE (460 Kms, 8-9 hours)

Drive to Shigatse. Arrival and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13

SHIGATSE TO LHASA (290 km, 5-6 hours)

Drive to Lhasa and check into hotel. Rest day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 14

LHASA TO KATHMANDU BY AIR

Transfer to airport for flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. In the evening, holy water offering & Aarti Puja at Pashupatinath Temple,. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 15

DEPARTURE FROM KATHMANDU

After breakfast, free time until transfer to the international airport for onward journey.

Booking Procedure:

  • Minimum Booking Amount:
    Indian Nationals: INR 25,000 per person
    NRI / Foreign Nationals: USD 500 per person
    (The booking amount may be higher than the minimum stated)
  • Submit clear passport copy (valid for 06 months after the date of return of yatra) along with 02 recent passport size colour photographs.
  • Travelers aged 50 years and above may be required to submit a basic health certificate issued by their personal/family doctor.

Balance amount to be paid 30 days before yatra starts.

Cancellation Policy:

  • No refund for any unused services.
  • In case of cancellation, the booking amount is strictly non-refundable and will be fully forfeited.
  • In addition to the above, the following cancellation charges will apply on the balance tour amount:
    • More than 21 days prior to departure: Non-refundable booking amount only
    • Within 15 days prior to departure: 50% cancellation charges
    • Within 7 days or less prior to departure: 75% cancellation charges
