HOLY MOUNT KAILASH OVERLAND TOUR VIA KYRUNG – 13 Nights/ 14 Days

This is one of the easiest and most economical route to undertake the Holy Mt. Kailash & Mansarovar Yatra, starting from Kathmandu. The yatra begins with Pilgrimage tour in Nepal including the Holy Pashupatinath temple, before proceeding by surface to Timure Border. For those seeking added comfort, an optional helicopter transfer from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi / Timure is available at an additional cost of USD 1,500 per person (one way). From the border, the journey continues through Kyrung, Saga, Paryang, leading to the sacred Lake Mansarovar. Here, perform holy puja, hawan, tarpan, and personal purification rituals. Proceed to Darchen to begin the holy Mount Kailash Parikrama, covering Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk. Upon completion of the yatra, pilgrims return to Kathmandu, where holy water offering and puja at Lord Pashupatinath Temple are performed, marking the spiritual conclusion of the journey.

Day 1

KATHMANDU

Arrival at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu, welcome by our representative & transfer to hotel. Overnight dinner & stay at hotel.

Day 2

PREPARATION & PILGRIMAGE SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, proceed for Pilgrimage sightseeing covering Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa and Budhanilakanth temple. Return to hotel for lunch, followed by a detailed yatra briefing and preparation session. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3

KATHMANDU TO TIMURE/ SYAVRUBESI (8 hrs.)

After breakfast drive to Timure. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4

TIMURE TO KYRUNG (35 Kms, 1 hour drive)

After breakfast, complete Nepal side immigration formalities and walk approximately 15 mins. to cross the Nepal China Friendship Bridge. Complete China side immigration formalities and meet your Chinese guide and coach drivers. Proceed to Kyrung. Arrival & O/N stay at hotel.

Day 5

KYRUNG TO SAGA (105 Kms, 4- 5 hours drive)

After breakfast, drive to Saga (15,223 ft), enjoying scenic landscapes, waterfalls, and views of the holy Brahmaputra River en route. Arrival and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6

SAGA

This day is reserved for acclimatization. Pilgrims may take short walks around the town and enjoy the surrounding scenery. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and overnight stay at Saga.

Day 7

SAGA TO MANSAROVAR (480 kms, 7-8 hrs drive)

After breakfast, drive to Mansarovar Lake (14,948 ft). Upon arrival, take a holy bath and perform puja, hawan, dev tarpan, and personal purification rituals (self). Freshly prepared meals will be served at the lakeside. Overnight stay at guesthouse.

Day 8

MANSAROVAR TO DARCHEN (1 hr)

Drive to Darchen (15,302 ft). En-route visit Chuigumpa hot spring. Arrival & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 9

DRIVE TO YAMADWAR & HOLY TREK TO DIRAPUK

With packed lunch, drive to Tarboch Flag Pole, the first prostration point and an auspicious gateway. Visit Yamadwar, then drive to Sershong (15 minutes). Meet porters/pony handlers and begin the trek to Dirapuk (15,633 ft; 10 km / 5-6 hours). Overnight stay at guesthouse

Day 10

HOLY TREK FROM DIRAKPUR TO ZUTHULPUK

Continue Parikrama crossing Dorma La Pass (18,324 ft) and descend towards Zuthulpuk (15,420 ft 22 KM, 7 to 8 hrs trek). Overnight stay at camp/guesthouse.

Day 11

HOLY TREK TO NEAR DARCHEN & DRIVE TO PARYANG/SAGA

Complete the final stretch of Mt. Kailash Parikrama (14 km; 3-4 hours) which ends near Darchen. Drive to Paryang. (250 KM, 3 hrs, 14647 ft) . Packed lunch will be served enroute. O/N at hotel.

Day 12

PARYANG TO KYRUNG (310 Kms, 6 hrs)

Drive to Kyrung (8858 ft). Arrival and Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13

KYRUNG TO KATHMANDU

After breakfast, drive to the Nepal China border (35 km /30 mins). Complete China-side immigration, cross the bridge, and complete Nepal-side immigration formalities. Continue driving to Kathmandu (160 km /7 hrs). Arrival, check-in at the hotel, dinner, & overnight stay.

Day 14

PASHUPATINATH PUJA & DEPARTURE

After breakfast, attend the yatra completion certificate distribution ceremony, followed by a visit to Pashupatinath Temple for holy water offering. Free time until transfer to the international airport for onward departure.

  • The nationals who need to issue visa in Kathmandu have to pay extra night charge + visa charge as applicable.

BOOKING PROCEDURE:

  • Minimum Booking Amount: Indian Nationals: INR 25,000 per person & NRI / Foreign Nationals: USD 500 per person (The booking amount may be higher than the minimum stated)
  • Submit clear passport copy (valid for 06 months after the date of return of yatra) along with 02 recent passport size colour photographs.
  • Travelers aged 50 years and above may be required to submit a basic health certificate issued by their personal/family doctor.

Balance amount to be paid 30 days before yatra starts.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • No refund for any unused services.
  • In case of cancellation, the booking amount is strictly non-refundable and will be fully forfeited.
  • Cancellation charges on balance tour amount:
  • More than 21 days prior to departure: Non-refundable booking amount only
  • Within 15 days prior to departure: 50% cancellation charges
  • Within 7 days or less prior to departure: 75% cancellation charges

The above cancellation policy is governed by the rules and regulations of the China Tibet Tourism Bureau (TTB) and Foreign Exchange Center (FEC) China.
