After having breakfast, drive to Zingchen and walk towards Rumbak through a straight forward road. Leaving Zingchen village, you’ll enter the Hemis national park – habitat of Snow leopard and mountain ungulates etc. Walk through a narrow trail and the valley will widen as you arrive at Rumbak village. Rumbak offers you an opportunity to stay in a village house with a family – a trend that began in recent years under the homestay provisions being promoted and supported by the Government supported NGOs and travel agencies. You’ll get to try different local food during your home stay experience.
With a traditional warm Ladakhi breakfast your day will begin with a trek to Yurutse. At Yurutse, after having lunch, proceed for a short walk for wildlife sightseeing before returning to the homestay again in a local family house .
From Yurutse you’ll follow the path along mountains, and then cross a small valley to a zig zag steep path. Thereafter crossing the Ganda La pass (4380m), you’ll be walking for about two hours of descending walk and then you’ll reach the beautiful valley of Markha. A few hundred meters ahead is the Kaya village, where you’ll stay in a family house.
After having breakfast, you’ll walk towards Chilling across the Zanskar River and from there, you’ll be driven back to Leh. You’ll reach Leh by the evening.
